Resident Carl Barfield said, “After my wife’s diagnosis of dementia, I began to look at all available senior living facilities in Gainesville and nearby cities. I found none that had the range of activities, the highest level of care and concern, and the compassion for seniors that existed at The Village. After careful consideration, this was my only choice. I have been pleased with what I actually found here and was very satisfied at the level of care The Village gave to my wife.”

He added, “I hold a unique set of experiences at The Village. I began living in memory support with my wife, then moved to assisted living, and now reside in independent living. Not too many other residents here have that broad range of experience. At every level, I have been pleased. I would recommend The Village without hesitation.”

Gene Levine, who lives at The Village at Gainesville with his wife, Arlene, described their experience discovering this community. “At our ages (91 and 85), we felt it was more prudent to move to the ‘right’ independent senior living community now, before we really needed to move, rather than we had to move.

We did extensive research over a six-month period and narrowed down the 50 original choices throughout the USA to five. Four of the best ones were in other states. At The Village at Gainesville’s invitation, we attended four meetings here and took a tour.

After Wayne answered over 80 of our written questions to our satisfaction, we decided to pay the $5,000 to reserve the next apartment that met our criteria. When one we liked became available, we signed the lease and moved in about two weeks ago, and now, we couldn’t be happier.

In writing this, we realize everyone has different wants, needs, personalities, and expectations, but as of right now, every desire we had prior to moving here has been exceeded.

We moved to Cottage Place in The Village. I offer you the opportunity to visit with my wife and me to answer any questions you still may have about this marvelous, friendly, happy community.”
